John Hayes, Civil War Re-enactor

John Hayes grew up in the state of Virginia, trapping, hunting and exploring in places like Bull Run-battlefields of the Civil War. His father and friends told stories of ancestors who had experienced the war first hand. As an adult he became a scholar of 18th and 19th Century history of the American continent. In this program, he dons period clothing and shares artifacts and stories to explain what caused the war, tactics used to fight and a soldier's life. Children and adults are invited to experience history from John's perspective.
