Minnesota History opportunity
If you are interested in learning more about Minnesota History, tune in to This American Life on the radio this weekend.
Here is a message from Ben Leonard, Director of the Nicollet County Historical Society and a recent speaker on the U.S. Dakota War of 1862:
• "I’d like to tell you about an amazing opportunity for the Historical Society and upcoming event. The Treaty Site History Center and NCHS Director Ben Leonard are featured in an upcoming episode of the National Public Radio show “This American Life.” The episode will air over Thanksgiving weekend. Mankato native and Gustavus graduate John Biewen, now at Duke University, has created the hour-long radio documentary on the Dakota Nation, War of 1862, and the consequences that are still felt today.
• If you can’t listen to the show on your local NPR affiliate, please download the podcast on Itunes, or here: http://www.thisamericanlife.org/. It’s free if you download the week of November 25th."
In northern Minnesota, MPR broadcasts This American Life on Saturday at 1 pm and Sunday at 10 pm at 107.3 FM in Grand Rapids, 91.3 FM in Bemidji, and 92.5 FM in Virginia.
